Traveling to Kökar:

Ferries depart for Kökar several times a day from Långnäs on Åland and from Galtby/Korpo
in the archipelago of Åboland.
Långnäs is situated within a 30 minute drive from Mariehamn and Galtby is situated within a 2 hour ride from Åbo.
Use any web mapping service of your choice to find out how to get to either one of these ports.
The ferries are operated by Ålandstrafiken.

Please note! If you travel by any kind of motor vehicle you must make your reservation with Ålandstrafiken in advance.

The bus for Långnäs departs from Mariehamn and the bus for Galtby departs from Åbo.

The ferry ride takes 2.5 hours from both ports.
Both M/s Gudingen and M/s Skiftet have a cafeteria on board.
M/s Knipan does not have a cafeteria on board.

Once you have arrived on Kökar there is a map over Kökar at the port on which Sandvik is marked.
There are also road signs along the way showing the direction to Sandvik.
The total distance between the port and Sandvik is approximately 3 km / 2 miles.

The most convenient way to travel to Åland is by ferry from either Finland or Sweden.
